How to Create a Non-DOT Application

This guide walks you through creating a Non-DOT application in Double Nickel, designed for non-driver roles that do not require DOT compliance, such as office staff, dispatchers, recruiters, and maintenance roles.

Step 1: Create the Job Listing

Steps:

  1. From the sidebar, click on Job Listings

  2. Click on Create Job Listing

  3. Enter a Job Listing Title

  4. Enter and select a location

Step 2: Configure the Job Listing as Non-DOT

Steps:

  1. Open the same Job Listing you just created

  2. Click Edit

  3. Under Type, select Office

  4. In the Tracking Link section, you can copy the Tracking Link URL for use on your company website

  5. Click Save

Optional: Preview the Non-DOT Application

After saving, you can use the Tracking Link to view the short form application page, which shows what applicants will see when applying for this Non-DOT position.

This short form is designed for non-driver roles and does not include DOT-specific compliance requirements.

Optional: Create & Apply Custom Application Questions

This template defines the questions and structure used for your Non-DOT application.

Steps:

  1. From the sidebar, click on Settings

  2. Click on Job Listing

  3. Click on Create Template

  4. Enter a name for the template (for example: Non-DOT)

  5. Review the steps and turn off or reorder any steps that are not needed for Non-DOT roles

  6. Click on Questions

  7. Click the + trigger

  8. Select a pre-existing question (Optional)

  9. Or click Create Question to add a new one

  10. Enter the question text

  11. Enter a key (optional)

  12. Select whether the question is required (Yes / No)

  13. Select the question type (Yes/No, Single Select, or Multi Select)

  14. Click on Create

Now, you can apply your template to the job listing.

Steps:

  1. From the sidebar, click on Job Listings

2. Open the same Job Listing you just created

3. Click Edit

4. Under Template, select the template you want to apply

5. Click Save

The job listing template will now apply to all future applications.
